Family fun in the sun

Bryan and I decided to join the community pool. We had never been there before, so on Monday we headed over for a swim. Well, this place is not just a pool. It is many pools with many awesome features; it's really more like a water park. Hannah played with some friends from ballet and I know most of the kids from her preschool will also be there this summer. We all had a blast and can't wait to go again soon.

Bryan and Hannah in the center. Check out the water slide!

Sweet Daddy went back to get Hannah's bathing suit.

The waves were beautiful.

Frog-tossing on the boardwalk

This video is quite a good portrayal of Delaney's personality. She is meek and mild, but also coy and silly at the same time. Watch how she throws the frog to the ground without really looking at it... I think we may need to watch out for her antics in the future!

Sunday morning at the beach

You may have seen the video (two posts down) of Hannah swimming in the ocean. These pictures below were taken right before she decided to get wet. She got her clothes soaked and sandy so Bryan went back to get her bathing suit and a towel.

Our weekend in Wildwood

On Friday we drove to Wildwood, NJ, for some family time in the sun. We spent the weekend at the hotel pool, on the boardwalk, and even on the beach.

My parents stayed in the room next to ours. This is the tram car on Wildwood's 2-mile long boardwalk. I remember riding it as a little girl and I'm thankful that my daughters will now share this memory as well.

We rode the entire 4-mile round-trip. Delaney didn't quite make it!

Afternoon delights

(Grown-up!) girl time

This past weekend we had our MOPS retreat. We all drove to the Poconos for an overnight of planning, eating, and good-ol' girly fun. These trips are always rejuvenating, as they mark the end of the current MOPS year and the beginning of a new one. There were 16 of us and we hammered out ideas to make next year exciting and fun for all the MOPS moms (we plan to expand to 120 this coming year!!!). We still have much to do before September... but it's going to be a great year. Below is a picture. Do we look tired? We got four hours of sleep.

Field Trip

Today Hannah's class went to Merrymead Farm to learn about cows and milk. The kids had fun visiting the cows, piggies, peacocks, goats, sheep, and llamas at the farm. We toured the farm on foot and on a large flatbed tractor ride. It was a beautiful day and the homemade ice cream we ate afterwards was a sweet treat after a busy morning.

The girls didn't know I took this picture. I think it is so sweet how the three of them stood there for several minutes gazing at the cows.

Smile!

Another candid of three good friends, holding hands without a care in the world. Ahhh, to be a child.

Fuzzy but fun!

These two pictures are from the afternoon at the park. My mom went with us, so I actually got to be in some of the pictures! I like this top one (although fuzzy) because Delaney actually looks a bit like me. (maybe?)

Some new friends for Hannah

Hannah and I drove over to the local DQ today for a rare afternoon indulgence. We were the only people there and were quickly greeted by these feathered friends. Hannah wanted to try to feed them some of her ice cream, but I explained to her that geese don't have lips (at least I don't think they do?!) and wouldn't be able to lick it properly. I forgot to mention that they might also choke to death on the rainbow sprinkles. Nonetheless, she enjoyed chasing them and listening to them hiss at her when she got too close.
