Adventures at the aquarium

Hannah's class took a field trip yesterday, and I was able to go! We traveled by school bus to Camden, NJ, to visit the Adventure Aquarium. Although we only had a short time to tour the place, we had a fabulous time and saw lots of cool aquatic life. Hannah's class. The Philadelphia skyline across the river is beautiful.

My camera is nothing fancy, but I sure got some good shots! Check out this fish!

And yes, this eel is real! (ew!)
Hungry sealsCute African penguins-- I didn't even know that penguins live in Africa!
Hannah and her sweet friend, Molly. We spent the morning with Molly and her mom.
Not quite sure she wanted to do it...
...but my brave girl did finally touch the jellyfish! (ew!)

HipposI just looked back at my comments about these photos and had to giggle. There was a time in my life when I aspired to be a marine biologist. I guess it's a good thing I didn't pursue that!

What a terrific day! Thanks, Hannah!

A dual celebration: Mothers Day and Emma's dedication

Sunday was a special day for our family. We celebrated Emma's dedication at our church, and then enjoyed a lovely Mothers Day at home with my parents. Bryan cooked us all breakfast and later we went to The Perk for dinner. We were all able to relax and enjoy the day... especially Mommy!

Gettin' crazy!

Do you see what I see?

Just look at our beautiful girl. Today she made me cry.
Look closely. Perhaps you can see why.
Yes! She lost her first tooth this morning. In fact, she pulled it out herself and ran in to show us at 6:01 AM.
We celebrated with hugs and kisses (and tears from Mommy), and wonderment over the Tooth Fairy. Daddy explained that no one ever sees the Tooth Fairy. "And if she flies into your room and you're still awake, she shakes her magic wand over your head and you quickly fall asleep. That is why no one has ever seen her."
Let the silliness of it all begin:
Daddy, you're too funny!

I'm just a giddy girl... now put me to bed and show me the money!!! Yeah!!!

I can't help it!

We must have two thousand pictures of Emma, despite the fact that she's not even six months old yet. But I just can't help it. Our sweet baby is growing into a little girl already and I want to remember every cute little baby face that she makes. (and by the way, she's finally growing a bit of hair up there on that bald head of hers. My dad noticed it on Sunday and it's true! In fact, tonight when I was washing her head, I thought she had little bruises. It turned out they were little tufts of wet hair that hadn't been there before!)

Just in case you thought she forgot...

My mommy really does think that I'm cute, too, and she didn't intentionally leave me out of the post below this one.... just in case you were worried.
